Product Description

Review

"This zany version of the classic fable brings it bang up to date. It is aimed at a younger audience and has wacky characters, humorous illustrations and a great new twist" --THE BOOKSELLER

"A hilarious, thrilling and wonderful look at the rematch between the tortoise and the hare. It's got all the energy of a Bugs Bunny cartoon, transferred perfectly to a picture book. Highly recommended" --THE BOOKBAG

"Hilarious" --ANGELS AND URCHINS

"Rutt's words are eloquent, while still simple, and he uses repetition, within a changing style and pace, very fluidly. The illustrations match the story very well. A great night-time read" --TIDY BOOKS BLOG

"A completely brilliant, zany and laugh-out-loud take on the age-old story of the hare and the tortoise but with a twist. With wacky characters and humorous illustrations it will delight parents and children alike" --LoveReading4Kids

This book was recommended to me by a friend and it certainly met my expectations. Tortoise v Hare : the Rematch is a funny, up to date way of storytelling, with rhyme and sports-type broadcasting - introducing children to a different kind of narrative. I read it to the children at Playgroup and they laughed out loud. That has to be the ultimate accolade!

This is the best book I have read aloud to kids. I held the attention of my 4 year old daughter and two 3 year old boys stopped playing football to sit and listen. They all loved it. I think its a great gift and I know parents will enjoy it too. The illustrations suit the witty text so well. I hope Rutt and Redlich do scores more books. kirsten

Saw this on CBeebies bedtime hour and wanted it - very good story told in a less conventional style, with lovely busy pictures. Got it for my two year old.
