When Lucy meets rich and powerful businessman Marcus Delacroix her life becomes a roller-coaster ride. Heart-sore and disillusioned with love after the recent failure of yet another relationship his offer of marriage, wealth, position and the children she longs for is tempting. Everything she could wish for, except love. During the course of a long hot summer their developing relationship is charted by a malicious gossip columnist, and pitched into the world of the rich and famous Lucy struggles to find her feet. Those around her seek to influence events and she is betrayed by the person she most trusts. Discovering the unpalatable truth about Marcus's business dealings and the nature of the bond between him and his late wife she wonders if she is in too deep. "Torn" is a compelling read, full of action, excitement and emotional intrigue.
There's a rich mix of characters - sleazy, sophisticated, sexy and suave - skilfully interwoven through the narrative; each well rounded and playing a significant part in the unfolding story. No padding out of the plot in this book.
"Torn" is tightly written, every word counts, and a full and vivid picture is painted. In fact, the text jumps so successfully into vision that it would translate to the screen brilliantly. Perhaps there's a future blockbuster here? There's certainly potential for a sequel to this absorbing novel - write on!

Refreshingly original this skilful and well written novel successfully interweaves romance, intrique, drama and suspense to engage the reader from beginning to end. Impossible to put down and much more than simply a romance, this book will apeal to both women and men alike.A compelling read I can highly recommend this book.B.J.Bell is certainly an author to look out for in the future.

I have not written a review before, but this book, by a new author, gave me so much pleasure that I felt it worth the time to say so. I so often stick with authors I know and this was a writer I had never read before. This unexpected Christmas present has definitely broadened my horizons and I look forward to further books by Ms Eveleigh Bell.
