Biography

Staind dove into bleaker recesses than ever before and surfaced with their heaviest and most hypnotic album to date, STAIND, their self-titled, seventh studio album.
The multi-platinum Massachusetts hard rock outfit—Aaron Lewis, Mike Mushok, and Johnny "Old School" April—pushed itself to the very brink. There was struggle and strife, but, as a result, Staind ... Read more in Amazon's Staind Store

The first thing I have to say about this album is - wow!

The album is so powerful and is a lot heavier than later Staind albums. The album kicks in with "Tolerate" - just one of the gems from the album, you can tell Aaron was very troubled, it shows on this album. If you like Staind songs like "Mudshovel", "For You" or "Price to Play" you will probably like this album. The standout tracks for me were "Tolerate", "Question?", "See Thru" and the album closer "4 Walls", which is more reminiscent of their later stuff. Even if you are not a Staind fan and you just love metal I highly recommend this album, you won't regret it.

Stainds first album... Heard mudshovel and come again off the singles album and decided from the other reviews that it was the sort of album I've been looking for, with tortured lyrics with a lot of pain and angry heavy guitars. Sadly I just didn't get it. To me the album just felt a bit limp and childish. Mudshovel and come again are the most polished tracks and the rest of the album just sounded like filler tracks. If you were looking for something like I was I'd try Slipknots first album, Mudvaynes LD50 or maybe Machineheads the more things change.

4000 of these albums made. You can tell its one of Staind's first by the music type compared to their current. I looked for this everywhere but it is well worth the buy. End track is half hour long a must for all Staind's fans and collectors.
