Getting better 18 Jan 2010
Format:Hardcover
This has got to be one of the best Torchwood novels. Having now read 14 of the 15 in the series, I can safely say this. Like many in the series, there is a tendency to keep skipping between various action but this makes for a natural feel to the TV series. There are at least two occasions that makes the reader exclaim, 'Of course' as an earlier unexplained portion of text falls into place towards the latter half of the book. Author Trevor Baxendale (who also wrote Something in the Water) writes a fast paced and compelling novel. Well worth a read even if you are not a Torchwood fan. The whole Torchwood series of books gets better with each new release. Recommended.

Dead good 5 Jan 2011
Format:Hardcover|Amazon Verified Purchase
Having read all the other original Torchwood novels I found this to be the best of the bunch. Trevor Baxendale is a first-rate sci-fi/thriller writer who creates a great pace and provides full-blooded action and well-presented characters throughout. I agree that the ending is a bit of an anti-climax but overall this didn't detract from the fun and enjoyment of an exciting story that feels very true to RT Davies' television series.

Gripping Read!! 28 Oct 2009
Format:Hardcover
This is one of the better Torchwood books - and i've read a few now!! The story keeps you gripped and the relationship between Captain Jack, Gwen and Ianto is written very well as they try to save the world from the Undertakers Gift even though theres just the 3 of them. The story comes together well at the end where all the little sub stories throughout the book all contribute to the end.

the Basis of the story is that a law company from the future want Jack assassinated and to destory present day earth as they feel torchwood havent been handling the rift well. they send the undertakers gift only torchwood dont exactly know what this is or what it looks like, all they know is that it will destroy the world and Jack is also kept on his toes knowing something or someone is going to try to kill him. the story is kept in suspense with the un-dead who are dressed up as a funeral procession and whats in the coffin they are carrying they makes even Gwen Cooper feel sick!!??

really good read and keeps you glued until the end
