Well, I review this now because I have followed this series from the start. For those who know the series then buy it, Torchwood blu ray what a wonderful prospect. For those who don't know; Torchwood is a spin-off of the BBC Doctor Who but, there is very little reference to that fact throughout the show which makes the program a gem standing alone away from Doctor Who. A secret organisation aimed to protect the human race from alien threat, the 21st century is when everything changes and you need to join Torchwood to be ready (at least that's the basis for the organisation).
Series 1 -2 are incredible but series 1 ends with a strong Doctor Who twist which is problematic but its resolved on Torchwood basis at the very start of series 2 so don't worry. Series 3 is only a mere 5 episodes but are a story and a half with so much excitement its admirable to the creators. Series 4 is 10 episodes and at this point the BBC let an american company fund and make the show, this is evident in the series.
Series 1 & 2 Torchwood fight alien threats, 3 & 4 centre a little more on the human threat to the team and its survival. I can assure you Torchwood is excellent in its writing, acting and joyous experience. You wont be disappointed with this wonderful TV show that is..... TORCHWOOD!

This was purchased for my son who is fanatical about anything related to Dr Who.
On receipt of this item he disappeared into his room for many hours a very happy boy.

This 18 disc box set is the perfect Christmas present for people between the ages of 12 and 150, as I myself know. The packaging consists of a hard, cardboard sleeve like a book which has a pack inside, also in the shape of a book. You turn over and on your left is the episodes contained, along with all the special features. On your right however are eighteen thin plastic cases sandwiched together, each of them with the disc in.
I received the gift yesterday morning and was chuffed to rip it out of the wrapping paper. It contains Series One across seven black discs, two episodes on each one of six with one exception with three on it. The seventh and final of the discs has the TORCHWOOD: DECLASSIFIED series in cut-down form, at ten minutes long each. These give you background information, behind the scenes out-takes and interviews with the cast and crew. Also featured are little segments showing viewers how each monster and creature is made.
On the back of the pack is a picture of Gwen with the details of each separate series. In my opinion for what you're getting this is fully worth it.

Torchwood Box set
OMG wow im sooooo happy it came best show ever in my opinion haha i give it 4.5 stars best UK show i have seen in awhile highly recomended!

Better off buying the seperate DVDs
Series 1 & 2 are so different from 3, and 4 was just atrocious, so you are better off deciding what you like best and buying that series' DVD. Read more
