Lovely series of children's books with none of todays' questionable or inappropriate content - and stories my 5 year old loves and has held his interest for two years so far.

Out of date 13 Oct 2011
By Ruth
Format:Hardcover
If i could have rated no stars I would! This book is totally out of date. It focusses on disability throughout and although attempts are made to suggest 'Jenny' is being integrated into mainstream school, it certainly is not following todays beliefs of inclusion!
I removed many pages for example the one with Jenny getting into her wheelchair, while the entire class watched! Then I shared the suitable pictures with a group of 3 and 4 year olds up, who made up a lovely story, without focussing on the disability or wheelchair!
There are many other books available which depict disability without focusing on it, and if the aim was to focus on disability it is not factual.
Didn't like it at all, please consult a nursery provider about the best books to use with your children, if at all unsure. I would have expected the publication date to be pre 1990's not 2003! shocking!
