Speaking and listening skills are fundamental to every child's development and those who lack a good grounding find early formal education a real challenge. This new and improved edition of Speaking for Myself (launched November 2004) tackles this problem through tried-and-tested interactive tasks that also introduce children to using a computer.
The software includes:
60 on-screen flash cards that help children develop a whole word vocabulary of everyday words;
15 two- and three-word talking stories that encourage productive speech and the development of early reading skills;
Eight animated nursery rhymes that can be listened to, watched and sung along with to further encourage productive speech;
and five sets of games and exercises that build matching, listening, placement, colour and number recognition skills.
