I had to move a number of box trees, used as a low hedge, due to some building work. I had to transplant them into the rear garden but could not put them together due to existing plant arrangements. It was at this point i realised i could make the small trees more interesting by making shapes with cutting/pruning. At this stage i happened to notice the books on topiary on Amazon when looking at another item and decided to order a copy.
The book has 64 pages and is a good introduction into the world of topiary. All of the basic styles of lollipop, triangular, screw thread shapes and others are depicted, and tips and hints given to achieve the desired effect , although it does take a little patience to get things right, when you get the shears on the go.For the price its an excellent book for starters to have a go,although some of the gardens pictured are the sort you would have if you won the lottery.
