Small and lightweight. Perfect size for serious road cyclists.
Was used twice 'in anger'. Third time I needed to use it (20miles from home) I found that most of the pump had fallen away (seems there are two parts to the main body that screw together and they had come apart).
Not happy about that. I had been carrying it in my back pocket but had recently mounted it onto my bike's frame. Seems the vibrations through the frame were its downfall.

Am in two minds whether to replace like for like. If you're going to carry it in your back pocket, I think it is fine. Be nervous if you mount it onto the frame.

Gets the job done 22 Aug. 2013
By Amazon Customer - Published on
I have been cycling for over 20 years and had many frame pumps. I always liked the full size frame pump. I decided to upgrade and searched for a smaller pump that works. This pump is the one. I use it for only emergency road side use. It is a great little pump and gets the job done. I like that it has both presta and schrader. Don't let the size fool you. I don't have any tires with the schrader tubes but it has come in handy helping others needing their tires pumped up. You get a secure screw on seal with both the presta and schraeder tubes. I also like the flexible hose. I am buying another for my new touring bike.

Compact but powerful! 7 Sept. 2012

I needed a pump small enough to fit in my tool bag under the seat on my road bike. It fits, but I thought, at what cost? Would it work? Would I be pumping for an hour to fill my tires?

I finally tested it in my garage, letting both tires flat, and refilling with the pump. It takes very little effort to fill the tires. I was concerned I would loose too much air with disconnecting. No problem there either.

The only problem is you don't know how much air is in the tires, but in an emergency, who cares? I just want to get home!

Great product, very compact, and extremely well made.

Great pump...but beware of removable cores (in longer presta valves, especially), or it's useless. 20 April 2015

Excellent minipump. Small, light, and gets very good pressure. If you use shorter-stemmed valves (without removable cores--and I didn't even know mine were removable, as I don't need that feature), I'd highly recommend this pump.

BUT...and this is a HUGE but...If you happen to use/need long-valved tubes (I use 80mm valves for my 60mm aero rims), some of them have removable cores for the attachment of valve extenders. I didn't know my valves had these, honestly. The first time I needed to use this pump, I had a bad mishap. I screwed it onto the valve to get a secure, leak-free connection, pumped the tire up easily to a solid pressure, then unscrewed the pump's connector from the valve. As I unscrewed it, it removed the valve's core, deflating my freshly pumped tube in less than one second. I've since spoken with another rider I know with one of these pumps (and deeper aero rims as well), and he said that the same thing happened to him.

As such, I'm sending it back. I've spoken to Topeak, and they've acknowledged that this has happened to other customers with this pump. In its place, I've purchased the slightly larger Topeak Pocket Rocket DXII (that has a lever lock to attach securely to the valve, not a screw-on connector), which works even better (higher pressure with ease). As much as I liked the design, size, weight, and flexible hose/connection of this pump, if it disassembles my spare tubes' valves when I need them most, I can't rely on it; defeats the whole purpose.

That little pump is honnestly the best you can buy for your bike!
So small, and do the job! It's easy to pump and reach at least 80-90 psi fastly and without effort!

Best pump ever 19 Jun. 2013

It's reliable, durable, and its flexible hose is perfect fo fit the valve. And it's so light you can't even notice it in long rides.
