Very disappointed. Yes it gives you basic tips on how to use tools but nothing on how to actually paint an actual design. It says things like, you could do a pumpkin but says nothing about HOW to do it. Surely it makes the book kind of pointless?

5.0 out of 5 stars Fun book with LOTS of tips! 5 Oct. 2012

This book, "Top 10 Tips For Halloween Face Painting" by Lisa Starr, has many more tips than the title might imply. It's more like ten CATEGORIES of tips for face painting, with many of the sections overflowing with ideas. While great for Halloween, these tips can be used for costuming any time of year.

But I have one concern: Once my Significant Other has read this book, no telling what I could wake up looking like in the morning! ;)

My wife and I are so glad we discovered this little "How to" book that's packed full of helpful and great ideas on painting the kids' faces (and our own!). Absolutely perfect for Halloween and for future parties. What fun, and Lisa Starr makes it so easy!

There's no way anyone would have found this book useful....no pictures, no 'how to' guides, only suggestions like 'you could try face painting a pumpkin....yes but HOW!!!!! Rubbish!!!

This book... is not what I was looking for. Come on, this is something a two-year old would write. Take my advise and buy something else with your money.
5.0 out of 5 stars Simple and easy ... 10 Oct. 2012

A simple & easy way to make up the kids faces without the messiness of actual make-up. Learned how to do simple designs and with a little bit of practice it became easier to do. Using regular make-up is always difficult with the kids wiggling around and the make-up is always such a mess to get off their faces; face painting is the way to go. The book gives good directions and as I get better at the face painting, I'll experiment with fancier designs. A wonderful book and a great value to get me started in the right direction. I really appreciate it. Thanks.
