This book is packed with useful information - and obviously written by people who've actually been there. They tell you about particular runs to try and even what's good on the menu in the bars and restaurants. There's a piste map for each resort and up-to-date information on prices of lift passes, lessons, activities and accommodation. Use the book to plan your holiday - it tells you how to get there by car, plane or train - and then have it with you for all the inside info when you're there. I've been to a number of the resorts in the book and have always found the facts to be correct and the recommendations spot on.

Good overall review of Europe, but poor maps

This book gives a very good overview of European ski resorts. There are many nice photos, but more than a few are printed from low res digital files and look mediocre at best. The book's biggest flaw is the maps of the individual ski ares. They are way too small, that one cannot read any of the details even with a magnifying glass. They basically reprinted a ski area map in a very small space. However, this just points out the size of these areas, when compared to ski areas in the USA. Still a fun book to look at and a useful read.
