3.0 out of 5 stars '69 without the heavy breathing 27 Feb 2008
Format:Audio CD
'Original Tracks by the Original Artists' it says up the front of this compilation. Don't you believe it! At least one track ('Durham Town') is a later, inferior remake and, while they might be original recordings, other tracks featured are actually pale copies of genuine '69 hits. 'Je T'Aime...' was a greater success for Jane Birkin & Serge Gainsbourg, reaching number one, than for 'Sounds Nice' (who they?); ditto 'Aquarius' - a hit for Fifth Dimension (not included here) rather than Paul Jones's sad attempt, which only reached no. 45 in the charts (and yes, you got it, featured here).
EMI have better 1969 tracks than these in their archive: how much better this compilation would be with some of them instead.

5.0 out of 5 stars Bought as a gift. 22 July 2009
Format:Audio CD
My parents had this as a gift for their 40th wedding anniversary. They played it in their car on the journey home. They loved all the tracks (they said that it brought back some good memories) They knew all but one of the tracks. It will be one of their favourite cd's!

2.0 out of 5 stars Buy TOTP 1968, it is much better... 17 Aug 2009
By Chris
Format:Audio CD
I bought this and TOTP 1968 for my brothers 40th wedding anniversary to remind them of the music that was around when they got married. TOTP 1969 disc wasn't so good, but TOTP 1968 had all the classic tracks.
