4.0 out of 5 stars A must for Xmas, 9 Nov 2006
By Adrian Pruss - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
Well researched, unique, amusing, very readable and full of interesting pictures. I particularly liked A Brief History of Firsts. Full of facts to bore your friends in the pub. The hardback and attractive presentation means it will have a long shelf life. A must for car maniacs and a very usefull stocking filler this Xmas.

5.0 out of 5 stars Motor Mania......A Fun Read, 6 Nov 2006
Looking for a present for your Dad this Christmas?
Well this one will keep him amused over the festive period. Even if he is not a Motor Maniac like me, he will still enjoy this fab little book.
Well done to the authors who must of put many hours into researching all the wacky, weird and wonderful facts.
A must have stocking filler! (Maybe Mum might enjoy it too!)

5.0 out of 5 stars Car Bizarre, 5 Nov 2006
By J. Munro "Non-driver" (UK) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
Car Culture fascinates - even if you rarely use one, know their cost and have been run over by one (eg yours truly!).

That something of the Gunslinger in every driver - and the extraordinary things Man has done to make the Car faster or more beautiful, efficient, wasteful etc. (never mind turning them into Baths, Orchestras or Myths) is wittily distilled into a very funny manual of the 4-wheeled bizarre.

Bone up on the book so you can out-talk car nut friends, trump their anecdotes and generally annoy them; alternatively dip into it at leisure because it is simply a very funny and very wide portrait of Us and the Car.
