Book Description

Top 300 Free Apps for the Kindle FIRE

Top 300 Free Apps for the Kindle Fire by best-selling technology book author Ed Jones, is the detailed source for those must-have apps for your Kindle Fire!
So, you've got a Kindle Fire as a gift, or perhaps you bit the purchase bullet on your own because you wanted that awesome tablet. As far as apps go, what do you put on your new Fire? With tens of thousands of apps out there and more appearing on a daily basis, how do you choose what's useful, as opposed to what may be a waste of your download time? Here is the answer, newly updated with over 300 of the best FREE apps for your Fire. Top 300 Free Apps for the Kindle Fire is your guide to 300 of the top rated apps that you'll find useful for your Kindle Fire. Jones has taken the time to research and compile this extensive list of apps for your Kindle Fire, and best of all, each of these apps are FREE. You'll find apps for the home office, for entertainment, for news, weather, and sports, for your health, for managing your finances, for playing games, and more. A new local news apps section provides news, weather, and traffic apps for over 50 major US cities, and a new travel section gives you an insight to the best apps that will help you find great deals on flights, hotel rooms, cruises, dining, and even the best gas prices around your hometown or when on the road.

We’ve also taken the time to create each listing beginning with a clickable link back to the Amazon catalog. So as you read this book on your Fire, if any particular app sounds like what you’ve been looking for, just tap the image or heading name. You’ll be taken directly to the Amazon page for the app, where you can click the button to install that app. (Active wi-fi connection required.)

And this isn't just a list of names with little helpful information, like some guides out there that we'd prefer not to mention. In this book, you'll find detailed write-ups for each app, with specifics as to what the app can (and cannot) do for you. Let Top 300 Free Apps for the Kindle Fire be your guide to the best free apps for your new tablet!

Top 300 Free Apps for the Kindle Fire comes from the pen of Edward Jones, the principal technology writer behind the "Get-it-Done" series of computer books. 4.0 out of 5 stars Top 100 Free KINDLE FIRE apps 18 Dec. 2012
By Jeanne - Published on
Format:Kindle Edition
I borrowed this book just "to browse" for free. But I learned many things. (Plus having to replace my Kindle two times since I purchased it in November, I have become familiar with its use, and have discovered some things I am either missing or would like to have. This book answered so many of my questions. I guess I would give it 4 stars because there was no mention of a good camera app. I never had to pay for one before, and am sad that when I did buy one, it was only a one way camera for Skype. However there are some good free photo editors. Overall, a very good book.

5.0 out of 5 stars Free Apps for Kindle Fire from Amazon 30 Dec. 2012
By Skeet - Published on

This turned out to one of the best purchases I ever made. If you own a Kindle Fire this is a must-have book! Before I only used my Kindle for reading now I can play games use social networking sites, find interesting & appetizing recipes and even wake my sound sleeping husband! There really is something for everyone in this book and since all the apps are free what could be better? The author gives a detailed description of each app and even points out performance, problems and recommends when you might be happier paying for an updated version. only found a couple of apps that wouldn't work on the HD version and only one that wouldn't work on either Kindle we own.

5.0 out of 5 stars good book, told me what i wanted to know 11 Dec. 2012
By B.J.Trucker - Published on
Format:Kindle Edition
I'm on the road a LOT as an 18-wheeler driver, and I don't have wi-fi much of the time. I wanted to know which apps would work when i'm not connected, and this book told me that in the descriptions. Plus the price sure fit my budget (I'm easily paying five times that in some states for a gallon of freakin' diesel).
