The story lenght does not do the characters justice!. 30 Nov 2010
By R.Parklane - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Kindle Edition
I thought Dylan, the young, naive but pushy bottom is the perfect mate for Malic, the cool hunk. I like both characters but then I do have a preference for such pairing. The first part of the story is great. Malic rescues his angel, Dylan. Dylan is smitten but Malic is reluctant because he does not wish to hurt the so much younger man if it turns out that Dylan is not his "hearth". Malic has been hunting demons for so long that the tough guy is disillusioned and could not believe that he would be so lucky as to have found his hearth, like his warder friends. But the romance is disrupted by Malic's adventures of slewing demons and getting hurt as the guy has no regard for his life. That is fine as I do enjoy the supernatural elements. But not at the expense of the romance which is not allowed to develop better because of the novella length. As a result the plot seems rushed especially their relationship development. This is a real pity. This is more like a 3 stars story but I do like this couple. What a waste!

Not as good as "His Hearth" 27 Nov 2010
By Lasha - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Kindle Edition
I was psyched that the sequel to "His Hearth" was being published, so I rushed out and bought "Tooth and Nail." I should have waited. While "Tooth & Nail" is an okay read it doesn't hold up to the prequel. I wanted to read Malic's story as I loved him in "His Hearth," but this book felt rushed. Dylan, Malic's love interest is a clingy limpet from a Mills & Boon novel. While he was cute in some ways, in others he was very annoying and did not seem like Malic's equal like Ryan and Julian were in the previous book. The subplot of Malic fighting demons was interesting, especially the kyrie Raphael. But that plot just ended with no resolution. If you enjoyed "His Hearth" you will probably like this, just be forewarned this book is not up to the other's standards.

Couldn't put it down 24 Feb 2011

I've read a few of Mary's books and this is definitely one of my favorites. This book offers a great mix of action, fantasy, and steamy scenes. I love the character Malic and his troubled, tortured, sincere, and passionate nature. I can't wait to pick up another one of her books!
