The album consists of a series of musical parodies (everything from boy bands to west end musicals to heavy metal by way of rap). Mitch Benn clearly understands his subject matter only too well, with the result that each parody lovingly and systematically takes the mickey out of various different styles and genres. Perhaps what really sets this disc apart is the quality of the musical writing and also the fact that Mitch Benn is a fine musician and song-writer. The songs often have wickedly funny lyrics (one of the bonus tracks is a rap version of Macbeth - I defy anyone to listen to that and not crack up laughing).
So for anyone who has had to listen to one Westlife album too many, or who grew up mainlining Iron Maiden into the night, then this might just be the disc for you...
