Book Description

He sure would love to have someone to take care of…

Dr. Mike Flynn's single mom taught him early how to cook and clean, and there's nothing like vacuuming or doing dishes to help a guy relax. Annabelle Ronaldi is an artist without a domestic bone in her body. Since her fiance's death, she can't paint, and life looks hopeless.

Until the day after her sister's wedding, when she wakes up with Mike next to her in bed, and then she's really beside herself - because the handsome stranger is a dead ringer for her dead fiance.

After their mind-blowing one night stand, Mike is sure this is the woman he wants to take care of forever, but she acts like she's seen a ghost. While Mike sets to work wooing Annabelle, she sets to work sniffing out the truth of the convoluted family secret that turns everybody's lives upside down.

This is the follow up to Romeo, Romeo and the story of Annabelle Ronaldi, Rosalie's sister.

I was intrigued how this story was going to work out as Annabelle seemed like the sister from hell in Romeo, Romeo. Self-absorbed, vain and immature and not caring.

Well, we are getting a lot of background information about her to explain her bitchiness in the first book. If you can get over that inconsistency then it's really worth it.

Her love-interest is Mike Flynn, the gorgeous doctor from book one. They meet at the wedding of Annabelle's sister to Mike's best friend. And immediately hit it off thanks to too much alcohol on Annabelle's part due to the fact that Mike looks like her deceased ex-boyfriend.

After one hot night (that Annabelle can't quite recall), Mike is smitten and wants to get to know Annabelle. She doesn't want to be interested but is. Who wouldn't with a guy like Mike?! He can cook, loves to clean, hot in bed and puts up with a sometimes very annoying girlfriend.

I really liked how "normal" Mike was. He knows what he wants out of his life, is really good at his job and genuinely cares about people. He's the stable influence that Annabelle needs to sort out the chaos that her life has been for the past few years.

Robin Kaye really did a good job to show how that one special person can change your life just by coming into it and loving you for yourself.

Definitely worth a read.

5.0 out of 5 stars HOT! 26 Jun. 2013
By Dora912

This book has my favourite 'hot' scenes in it as they are both normal and naughty. 50 shades it isnt and it is all the better for it. Love Dr Mike though Annabelle annoyed me in the previous book she does redeem herself in this one.

5.0 out of 5 stars too hot to handle 16 Feb. 2010
Format:Mass Market Paperback|Verified Purchase
really liked this book, after reading romeo romeo which i thought was a bit slow getting started, this was better i really liked mike from the first book, annabelle came across as a bitch but the 2nd book too hot to handle explains why and you feel for all shes been through, loved becca, annabelles best friend and mikes sister and thought the book was really good kept me reading more than the first but i would read the 1st book its good but i prefered this cant wait for richs story in breakfast in bed loved his character in both books and will be intresting to see how he finds love, the story in too hot seems a bit far fecthed at first annabelle goes to her sisters wedding (that should of been hers) meets a man who is the double of her boyfriend who died and who turns out to be her best friends and dead boyfriends brother...but it gets to you, its really easy to get caught up with all the characters, i love henry and wayne annabelles gay neighbours i liked them in romeo romeo and no doubt will be popping up in the 3rd book well worth a read, more romance than hot sex but a good book that will leave you smiling when you have finished

5.0 out of 5 stars Even Better than the First! 27 May 2009
By Austen Reader - Published on
Format:Mass Market Paperback|Verified Purchase
I liked Romeo, Romeo. I really cared about the characters, even Annabelle, the seemingly annoying sister. Well, my feelings paid off in this book! No wonder I cared about her, she's awesome! We just needed to see her out from under Rosalie shadow -- and in Too Hot to Handle, we do. :)

The few nitpicky things I didn't love about Robin Kaye's first novel just didn't happen in the second, which is just a wonderful read. I didn't put it down (okay, I went to the restroom once -- but that's it) until I finished it in the wee hours. I was particularly impressed with her introduction of the characters, intrigued immediately, and well rewarded in the end.

My only complaint was the dad seemed to get off a bit too easily -- he deserves to suffer a bit more for what he did to Annabelle when she was with Chip. He doesn't deserve to find Coleen willing to pick up with him again! At least Mike seemed to agree with me. ;)

I cannot wait for the third book. I suspect I know who the lead characters will be, and I so hope to be right!

Well written, funny, poignant and SEXY!!

3.0 out of 5 stars 3.5 -- perfect Hero but confused heroine 6 May 2011
By RomReader - Published on
Format:Mass Market Paperback
Art-gallery administrator can't believe she slept with her deceased BF's look-alike right after they met at her sister's wedding & that she actually enjoyed it. Lung-doctor Hero can't believe how strong the attraction he shares with heroine & wants the pursue their r/s fully. But heroine treads cautiously b/c she's not exactly sure what her motives are for being with Hero & is reluctant to share any info about her deceased BF. As their friends & family get involved, the truth about Hero & heroine's former BF complicates matters even more.

Overall, I liked this Kaye book. It was sensual, funny, & sweet at times. I really liked the Hero. He was open about his devotion, lust, & love for heroine. He was an alpha-male with a penchant for cleaning & cooking (*sigh*). He didn't have any problems committing to heroine & was patient with her reticence.

My problem with this book is the heroine's emotional state. She was very hung-up on her 1st BF who died of cancer 2 years prior. She repressed her feelings about him & felt guilty for their secret r/s. The next 2 serious r/s she had were tainted by her unresolved issues with her ex. Her initial interest in Hero was b/c he looked like the spitting image of her ex-BF. In most of the book, I wasn't sure whether she was in love with Hero or b/c he reminded her of her ex. She was confused. I was confused. It was disturbing. It distracted from the emotional feel of the book. The only time I thought that she was fully present with the Hero & knew it was him she was with was when they were having sex. The other times she seemed to be comparing him to her ex or hiding herself from Hero b/c of her issues with her ex. Even at the end, when heroine professed her love for Hero (which I believed), I thought that she seriously needed therapy to find closure over her ex-BF & solidify her identity issues.

Limited recommendation.

5.0 out of 5 stars 5 Blue Ribbons from Romance Junkies! 26 April 2009
By Natalie S - Published on
Format:Mass Market Paperback
In TOO HOT TO HANDLE, Robin Kaye's follow up to her release ROMEO, ROMEO, readers meet Dr. Mike Flynn, a doctor and caretaker, and Annabelle Ronaldi, an Italian spitfire that rocks his entire world.

Annabelle Ronaldi knows that she is a bit of a disappointment to her Italian roots. She doesn't cook unless she has to, and even then, she takes *gasp* shortcuts. Meeting Mike Flynn at her sister's wedding, she is at once intrigued and surprised by the feelings he invokes in her. She can't help but notice how much he favors her now deceased fiancé, and while it unnerves her, she is still attracted to him enough that she wants to see what happens. Plus, there is nothing like a good mystery, and Annabelle is determined to get to the bottom of this one.

Mike Flynn has been taught by his mother from an early age to take care of himself. He doesn't mind cooking and cleaning and running a household. Life as a physician doesn't give him much opportunity to do so, but when he does, he relishes being able to take care of someone he likes. Annabelle Ronaldi is such a person. Meeting her at her sister's wedding, he is instantly enchanted and utterly charmed by her. Their explosive night together makes him even surer of his decision to woo the beautiful and sassy Annabelle Ronaldi.

Family secrets and lies are the name of the game in TOO HOT TO HANDLE. Annabelle lost her fiancé to tragedy, and at her sister's wedding, she meets a man that could be his twin. Intrigued by, but also attracted to Mike Flynn makes Annabelle want to keep him for her very own. The fact that he is the exact type of man she desires plays heavy on her mind, and she falls for the handsome doctor. Their sinfully sexy first night together was sensuous and heady. Both characters fell hard for each other, and that in turn made this story that much more entertaining.

Robin Kaye spins the tale of Mike and Annabelle in such a way that I felt their emotional ties and their lusty thoughts. From Annabelle's fun loving Italian-to-the-bone family to Mike's single but dedicated and loving mother, I didn't miss a single breathtaking word of this fine novel. Readers will be hooked on TOO HOT TO HANDLE. I know I was!

5.0 out of 5 stars Another Great Read from Robin Kaye! 17 Mar. 2011
By Slick Reads - Published on
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I downloaded Romeo, Romeo; Ms. Kaye's first novel for free not expecting much. I was so pleasantly surprised that as soon as I finished it I came straight to Amazon to buy her next two. Again, this novel had a lot of layers and I loved as each one was peeled away. I was concerned at first with the whole dead ex-boyfriend/long lost brother plot line but Ms. Kaye handled it very nicely and the added touch of the first "star crossed lovers" being reunited was a bonus. I truly enjoy Ms. Kaye's books because in addition to a decent plot line, there is humor, obvious love (and not just from the main characters), and some pretty hot sex scenes. I love all the "extra" characters who add so much to her books (Vinny, Mona, and especially Aunt Rose). Thanks for another great read, looking forward to the next two!

When I finished reading Romeo, Romeo I was so happy to see that Robin Kaye wrote a story about Rosalie's sister Annabelle and Nick's friend Mike so I ordered it and Too Hot To Handle was just as good as Romeo, Romeo!

I just love Robin Kaye sense of humor and a good plot full of emotions that also makes me laugh is a book for the keeper shelf.
