A New York Times #1 Bestselling Author, Tony has spent over twenty years as a writer, mainly as a journalist for magazine and newspaper media. he has also written for TV and radio.
As a comic writer since 2004 he has written for Marvel Comics (including X-Men, Spider Man and Amazing Fantasy), Titan Publishing ( Wallace & Gromit, DreamWorks Tales), Panini Comics ( Doctor Who), Rebellion Publishing (2000ad, Judge Dredd: the Megazine) and AAM/Markosia (Starship Troopers, Hope Falls, Midnight Kiss, From The Pages of Bram Stoker's Dracula: Harker) among others.
He has been the 'showrunner' of IDW Publishing's Doctor Who license, writing the critically and commercially acclaimed mini series Doctor Who: The Forgotten and all issues of the subsequent ongoing IDW Doctor Who series. His Eleventh Doctor series began in January 2011.
His creator owned book for Walker / Candlewick Books, Outlaw: The Legend Of Robin Hood has also been a critical and commercial success, and has been a Junior Library Guild Fall 2009 selection, an American Library Association and New York Public Library 'best of 2010' for teens and a Children's Choice Awards 2010 finalist. The second in the series, Excalibur: The Legend Of King Arthur has been also nominated and praised by the American Library Association in their 2012 list.
His creator owned book for AAM/Markosia, From The Pages of Bram Stoker's Dracula: Harker was the first graphic novel sequel ever to gain an endorsement from a member of the Stoker family.
He has adapted Shadowmancer (G.P Taylor) as a 10 issue series of 22 page comics for AAM/Markosia, as well as the sequential art sections of books one to three of G.P. Taylor's The Doppleganger Chronicles. For Walker Books he has adapted the Raven's Gate series by Anthony Horowitz, the first due out in late 2010 with the second, Evil Star out in 2012.
Also released in late 2010 he adapted four of Anthony Horowitz's 'Horowitz Horror' tales - The Phone Goes Dead, Scared, The Hitchhiker and Killer Camera into graphic novellas for Franklin Watt / Hachette Childrens Books. In May / June 2011 he released four new 'Sherlock Holmes: The Baker Street Irregulars' books through them, alongside illustrator Dan Boultwood. Set in Sherlock Holmes canon and edited by consulting editor Leslie S. Klinger, these have already received critical acclaim.
In May 2010 his biggest adaptation yet, the adaptation of the New York Times best-seller Pride & Prejudice & Zombies was released by Del Rey books / Titan Books as Pride & Prejudice & Zombies: the Graphic Novel. This too became a New York Times best-seller, hitting #1 in the Graphic Novels section.
In 2009 Tony was invited to India as an ambassador on behalf of the British Council and toured three cities giving talks and workshops to schools and universities on writing and comics.
Outside of the printed media, he has created two serials for MTV Comics, and both a Doctor Who audio drama involving the Fifth Doctor and two Bernice Summerfield audios for Big Finish Productions.
On the 19th September 2011 he released his first novel, 'Dodge & Twist' onto the Amazon Kindle.
