Dont expect any classic era (Ozzy) Black Sabbath here because there is non, infact Tony dosnt even play in that particular style on this DVD
this is all much later era Black Saabbath there is very little breaking down of teqnique here,,this DVD is designed for Experts really, this is more about expert level shredding
it personally was beyond me in so many ways firstly in that i have no interest in later era Black Sabbath and the skill level required to even be able to play the licks Tony is demonstrating is Advanced be warned

I bought this as a stocking filler for my son who plays electric guitar and loves Black Sabbath and Iron Maiden.
The whole point of learning to play licks is so that you can play along to the songs, and you'd think the best person to learn from would be the guy that plays the originals, but not in this case.

Take the first lick as an example, from Neon Knights, Tony plays it through at normal speed, then slowly, then the extract from the actual song is played and it's blatantly different in the song to how he's just shown you, what's the point of that ??

Tony even says "I play it something similar to this . . .", if I'd wanted "something similar" I'd download the close but not quite exact guitar tabs off the internet, when I bought this DVD I was expecting him to teach them properly !

Very disappointing and a complete waste of money in my opinion, obviously just a lazy way of making extra cash from fans

Starlicks on DVD 18 Feb 2007

This is a straight forward copy of the Tony Iommi Starlicks release.

No DVD extras, but a good transfer of a slightly rare product.

Tony Iommi explains his 1984 equipment and guitars, the Iron Eagle by B.C. Rich, and SG types JayDee, and John Birch.

Includes riffs and two solos.
