Although the new instalment of tony hawk's skateboarding has been well recieved on both xbox and playstation 3, this is as far as the praise goes. unfortunately due what i consider poor decisions made by neversoft and activision, the wii version was made using the same model as that of the playstation 2. this meant that rather than being designed compleltely by neversoft, a second party were used (studio 40, or something like that). This meant that not only does the wii version not have the video editor, but in general corners have been cut throughout the game. The game does not consist of one big level , as is featured in the ps3 and xbox 360, instead smaller levels are unlocked as you go along. initially i thought this a good idea as i thought it would result in better graphics. however the graphics on the wii version are short of appauling, worse than titles on the gamecube, except that is, on the characters themselves, which look ok.
what makes this game such a letdown is the controlls, although easy enough to grasp, the motion system is not used to its best capabilities, with several moves requiring much the same action which leads to a great deal of frustration.
having said all this i, as an avid tony hawk's skateboarding games fan did quite enjoy the game, but i stuggle to see other people doing so. wii owners have been cheated out of the last tony hawk's title, and now we have a half rushed second gen version, its high time we got a decent skateboarding game such as the xbox 360's skate. realistic and smooth, not fast and rushed.
