I've owned more expensive straighteners in the past, but these are the only ones I'd give five stars to. They have all the little extras you could need, including a temperature control, long cord that is able to turn as you move the straighteners, and the plates are slightly springy so if you press too hard there's some give there. To be honest I bought them because they were on offer and had the free heat pad thing, but am really pleased with my purchase.

I just bought these straightners from Argos.Great straightners manages my thick hair with no problem.Highly recommended product as good as GHD and cheaper.

I have fine hair as it is, but these straightners are brilliant. They come with a handy travel bag and heat proof mat that all clips together and looks really nice. There are several settings for the heat and I don't use nearly the hottest settings so even if you do have thick hair, they should work well. Fab price!

They work but not brilliant
Find the cost of ghd's outrageous so these are a good alternative. They do the job but aren't brilliant: no indication to say they are up to temperature and no auto- switch off.
