Colour Name:Red
Bought theses about a year ago to replace some cheapo (£15) Remingtons.
On first use they were quite a shock, much lighter and thinner, and less force needed to close them. On/Off switch and adjustable heat wheel were nice features (though to be honest I just left them on max heat). Also, for the first few weeks were brilliant! Having short hair, they could get right to the roots, and left hair far smoother, straighter, and shinier, even my friends noticed the difference!
HOWEVER, they soon went down hill. The felt like grip on the ends both faded and rubbed of, leaving ugly white patches, and also all the writing (logo, on/off, and heat marks) all rubbed off, making using them a tad annoying. Worse still, the black ceramic came off around the edges, and what was left started to undefperfom, leaving far worse results than before. The final straw was when the on/off switch broke, meaning the only way you could use them was to hold the switch on the on setting while using (basically making them impossible to use). They've now decided to stop working alltogether, so back to the cheapo Remingtons (the only fault they've ever had is a squeaky hinge!) And all this through normal, generally careful use.
I emailed the customer serivces at least four months ago, and they've yet to reply.
Also, some other (minor) issues are that, unlike on some other straighteners, the cable doesn't rotate, making using them slightly tricky. Also, there isn't any way of keeping the shut after use, other than wrapping the cord around them (inadvisable when hot, and leaving a twisted cord after).
At the price they are now, and if you don't mind the prospect of having to replace them in a few months, go for it. If, however, you want something that produces good results for a long time, these are not for you.

I must say i love toni&guy, i use many of their products so i thought why not try the straightener. But the surprise was only after 3 days of using it, when, because of the heat, the plastic cracked. it simply split in 2 parts. to be honest, im quite dissapointed as it was the perfet hair straightener, being cool, pink, sleek and not heavy at all.

These straighteners are what they say on the box. They are very attractive and heat up amazingly quickly. How they straighten is also really good, Im a guy with quite tight curls so it takes alot to get my hair straight but these do it in a couple of strokes!
Only complaint about them I have is..... Ive just used them for the very first time and already the red is starting to come off near the heat plates.
Hopfully it wont come off everywhere but I will post again if it does.
One thing I did forget is on straightening arms there is felt on the bits where the heat plates are so that you dont burn your hands/fingers while straightening!!!!!

Does the job, barely.

toni and guy straightners
they are good straighteners work well but iv only had them a few weeks and the red enamel beside the plates is starting to come off. so im not impressed by that. Read more
