Manufacturer's Description

Megasketcher is a magnetic drawing board with a special screen that allows budding artists to draw, crisp, clear pictures.
Thomas fans can create Thomas or Percy using the special stencils provided, add the no.1 stamper for Thomas or the no.6 stamper for Percy and place their wheels in the special grooves, then press the Fat Controller button and listen out for Thomas or Percy's whistle as you hear the Thomas theme tune play.
The wheels magically turn and the train track moves! When you're ready to start gain, pull down Harold the Helicopter to clear the screen and use another stencil or draw whatever you want. Requires 3 x AA batteries.

Bought this for my son for christmas. Not really that impressed, the wheels and stamps are small and easy to lose, and if you do lose them the tune wont play, although the tracks on the bottom will still move though in my opinion they are quite uneffective anyway. The stencils of Thomas and Percy are good, and the overall size of the screen is good and manageable. The eraser part is not sprung like the basic tomy megasketcher and you need to pull it up and down (two moves) to completely erase the picture so it is less effective than the former. Also the eraser bar is slightly moveable as in it is not always completely horizontal when you pull it up and down and tends to move at an angle depending on how you pull the handle.

My 4 year old has had plenty of use out of this toy, needs batteries though for the noises, works well, wheels & little extras get lost easily! But overall he loves it with or without the noises/bits.

I have purchased many Tomy Thomas megasketchers in the past 8 years and have found this one to be the most creative as far as the sounds and actions of the wheels going round to the Thomas Music. But as far as the quality of the wiping out mechanism which is now manual and not motorised it doesnt clear as well as it should and as this is the main point of the toy it lets itself down. On the whole a good idea but doesnt seem as good quality of the previous Thomas megasketchers without the sounds and moving wheels and its a lot more expensive too. :(
