This little grasshopper-type creature is really cute. But my son says it's not "cute" it's "awesome and fun." This was no problem to build -- he just followed the color-coded instructions. We have done the K'Nex amusement park sets, which are giant and very fun, so he is familiar with how to snap K'Nex.
One thing about K'Nex that is different than Lego -- every time he works with K'Nex, he gets a sore spot on his thumb. But he doesn't mind it -- it's part of the fun.
This set, when built, jumps around on the table. Long drops to hard tile floors are no problem -- a few pieces fall off, but it is easy to rebuild for the Lego/K'Nex Kid.
Trust me, Moms, this is really cute. No extra pieces in the box -- you use every piece. Make sure your little one is careful when opening the packages. Also, be sure to put the batteries in the motor before you start to build. After it's built, you have no access to the battery compartment.
