Product Description

Collect & Build all four motorized robots in the Micro-Bots Series - Scooter, Hopper, Speedy and Crawler! Each set comes with approximately 120 K'NEX parts, primarily micro rods & connectors. And the motor allows for unique and exciting mechanical movement - just like each robot's name suggests! Scooter scoots along, Hopper jumps, Speedy is lightning-quick on wheels, and Crawler creeps along on four legs! And that's not all - Scooter and Hopper combine for a bigger robot, and Speedy and Crawler do the same! Recommended for builders ages 7+. All sets require 2 "AA" batteries, not included.

Set Contains 123 Pieces.
Weight (kg): 0.26
Dimensions (cm): 23 x 20 x 6

Motorized for awesome fun 3 Jun 2011
By M. Heiss - Published on Amazon.com
Durability:    Educational:    Fun:
This little grasshopper-type creature is really cute. But my son says it's not "cute" it's "awesome and fun." This was no problem to build -- he just followed the color-coded instructions. We have done the K'Nex amusement park sets, which are giant and very fun, so he is familiar with how to snap K'Nex.

One thing about K'Nex that is different than Lego -- every time he works with K'Nex, he gets a sore spot on his thumb. But he doesn't mind it -- it's part of the fun.

This set, when built, jumps around on the table. Long drops to hard tile floors are no problem -- a few pieces fall off, but it is easy to rebuild for the Lego/K'Nex Kid.

Trust me, Moms, this is really cute. No extra pieces in the box -- you use every piece. Make sure your little one is careful when opening the packages. Also, be sure to put the batteries in the motor before you start to build. After it's built, you have no access to the battery compartment.

A new way to say "Lego" 17 Sep 2010

Durability:    Educational:    Fun:
My daughter (9) took a summer science camp where they made a K'nex robot. She was thrilled so I bought her a few mini-robots and a box of parts to play with while we were on vacation. She loved them - almost as much as she loves her Lego (no kits, just parts).

The fact that these move (motors) is cool to both of us. That you can adapt the parts available to modify the kit or other plans (included with the 400 piece set) when you don't have the right parts or just want to experiment is teaching her abstraction. The small parts are working her fine motor skills (these kits and the 400 piece sets were nearly all the small K'nex, not the big pieces she built her robot out of originally.

She likes to play with the kits and experiment, I like that she's learning while having fun - a win-win
