I bought this for my son's birthday, thinking it was comparable to Lego's. Unfortunately it's just not made as well, and whenever we tried to attach the little pieces the whole thing would break apart. We got so frustrated we sent it back, as well as other K'nex products we'd ordered for Christmas. We've had this experience with other "similar to Lego" products as well, cheaper is not better. I suppose if you were to carefully put this together, and let it sit on a shelf to look at it'd be a fine display piece, but not if you want your creations to stay together.

My son received this as a gift and he was excited to build an excavator. However, the pieces just do not stay together. It became frustrating for me (an adult) and we are going to try to exchange it for something else.
