Manufacturer's Description

Get A Letter
A fun filled game of fast thinking and laughter bringing family and friends of all ages together. It can be played at anytime, anywhere and by anyone!

This is a fantastic new game for two players or two teams, with adults and children of all ages being able to join in the fun.

It’s a fast-thinking, head to head race to beat your opponent to those flipping letters! Hit the timer and shout out a word that fits the category on the game card – but hurry, because you’ve got to flip the relevant letter too. Quick, think of another word starting with a different letter before your opponent gets there first!

When the timer runs out the one with the most letters flipped towards them wins the game.

With a choice of easy, medium, hard and specialist categories on the game cards, this game is great for players of all ages.

How to Play:
Each team or player faces one side of the game unit and will see all the letters of the alphabet on individual tiles in front of them. A game card is then picked and either an easy, medium, hard or specialist category is chosen to play. The timer button is then hit, with an electronic timer counting down 90 seconds – the length of each round.

It is then a frantic rush to name as many words that fall into the category, whilst flipping the relevant starting letter tile of the word towards them. Be quick though, as you can call out as many words as quickly as you can to win as many tiles as possible in each round. Once the timer finishes, count up how many tiles each player/team has and the one with the most is the winner!

Example rounds:
Easy Category: Female Pop Stars
Example Answers: Beyonce, Madonna, Cheryl Tweedy, Annie Lennox…
(The letters B, M, C and A would be flipped)

Medium Category: Things in space
Example Answers: Stars, Rockets, Milky Way, Aliens….
(The letters S, R, C and A would be flipped)

Hard Category: Reality TV show
Example Answers: Big Brother, Survivor, The Farm, Celebrity Big Brother, I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here…
(The letters B, S, F, C and I would be flipped)

Specialist Category: Space Films
Example Answers: Blade Runner, Star Wars, Close Encounters of the Third Kind, Empire Strikes Back, Alien…
(The letters B, S, C, E and A would be flipped)

3 x AAA batteries required. Manufacturers age recommendation: 8 years – Adult

It’s so easy to play and you can have fun creating your own categories too!

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic!, 29 Jun 2006

This is the best game to come into our house for a long time! Though it says 8+ our son is 4 and loves it; we just make up our own categories like "thomas trains" or "colours" or "veggies". At dinner parties we do the same--just let everyone shout out ideas for categories if they aren't inspired by what is on the card. You can be silly or serious, depending on the players.

It is also *great* for travel. Our 4 and 6 year old can play for ages and it folds up quite small.

A fantastic game, simply but genius! Buy it!

4.0 out of 5 stars A fun one for word game lovers, 7 May 2007

Great fun even when played with a six year old. It's amazing how hard it is to think of words that begin with a particular letter in a category especially when the pressure is on against young competitors!! It can get fast and furious trying to grab the letters to your side, so perhaps supervision is required when with over competitive opponents!! The only annoying feature with the game is that you cannot switch the buzzer off once pressed (you have to sit through the 90 seconds) and it's easily activated when setting up. So far we've tried it with young and old ages 6-55 and it's proved a hit and sometimes with great debate. So overall an interesting and fun game for wordy enthusiasts.

Because this game is new, I know my god daughter (10) will not have it! I don't even need to check with her mother before purchasing for her this Christmas. This game also makes a great house present for adults.
