If you love Air, Ladytron and / or Twin Peaks you really owe it to yourself to give this CD a go.
Air always worked best with Female vocalists and this JB side-project is no exception. IMHO this is the best thing that Air (well, one half) have done in years. Paired with Lou Hayter from New Young Pony Club has resulted in an ultra cool album of subtle sinister electro-tinged tracks that really deserve a wider audience.
Highlights are the single Drive, Metropolis, Pleurer Et Chanter (VERY air), the epic anthemic Don't Let Them Bring You Down and Think of Me (VERY Julee Cruise / Twin Peaks). Lou does 90% of the vocal duties with JB chipping in in usually sinister fashion, especially in Catch Me in which he plays the part of some sort of abductor / murderer of poor old Lou. It's brilliantly creepy stuff!
I may have given the impression that this album is very derivative of other styles and groups but that would do it a serious disservice. It's the most strikingly atmospheric thing I have heard in quite a while and the sort of thing you put on and folks ask "who the hell is that?" But in a good way.
