Product Description
A collection of films featuring the British entertainer and singer. In 'The Duke Wore Jeans' (1958), Steele plays Tommy Hudson, a cockney lad who pretends to be a Lord in order to woo a South American princess. In 'It's All Happening' (1963), Steele plays a talent scout for a record company who manages to save an orphanage from closure whilst also making himself a star at the same time. 'The Tommy Steele Story' (1957), is a quasi-autobiographical pop musical, in which Steele plays a young merchant seaman who discovers he has a certain way with the guitar. When posted to the West Indies young Tommy discovers the affecting and sensual rhythms of calypso and starts to write his own tunes in the same style. On his return to London Tommy hits the big time when his talent is spotted, and the songs prove a hit with the kids. Finally, in 'Tommy The Toreador' (1959), Steele plays a sailor who, on shore leave in Seville, takes the place of a recently arrested matador at a local bullfight.

Tommy Steele Collection : The Duke Wore Jeans / It's All Happening / The Tommy Steele Story / Tommy The Toreador [DVD]Wonderful to have so many dvd's in one package.Bought them to reminisce my rock and teenage years.Who'd have thought all those years ago Tommy would have had such a varied career in front of him.He's always been my number one Rocker and it's been a pleasure to meet him face to face,he's so unnasuming and natural.The collection has lived up to what I expected and would recommend it.

I was searching for something else when I came across this collection - I knew about Tommy the toreador but not the others - they include all his great songs - A must for any Tommy Steele fan. The story lines are fairly thin but simalar to the Elvis movies - Most enjoyable was The Tommy Steele story and most unusual is the fact that Tommy plays himself - not so much the story but the begining of his carear - with all hios best early hits.

Had the opportunity to 'discover' this marvellous artist thru his music,
with this fine Dvd-set box (Studio Canal), also promoted with a very nice
price by Amazon.uk and many tks for that. I liked it very much watching
and listening these movies/musicals to an amazing and fantastic Tommy Steele allways enjoying people with his lovely stories and entertainement!
So I would recommend this product and for sure you'll be pleased to see

Really good value if you want to wallow in nostalgia and go back to your childhood!"It's All Happening" is a bit of a let down but this is still a competitively priced package
