My little one won't take bottles. Full stop. I tried about 7 different brands over a few weeks and gave up. So then I started on cups. I have tried, without any success, the following cups; Tommee Tippee First Cup Free Flow, Tommee Tippee First Sips Free Flow, Nuk First Choice Training bottle and some other rubbish I can't remember the name of or even what it looked like! I was getting desperate as we are soon starting Nursery and they don't take open cups unless they have to (which is unfortunate as we have used the Doidy cup since she was 4 months and she doesn't spill any now). Anyway, today, with my baby 5 months old, we have tried (with major success) the Tommee Tippee Tip It Up Cup. She loves it. I wondered if it was just her age (her now being ready for a sippy cup) and re-tried the TTFirst Cup - and she still won't take it. Therefore, I can say - for us - this is the best cup out there. I have to thank the friend who recommended it. (her 5 month old son only takes this particular cup too and he is bottle fed).
Yes, it leaks if you don't have the protective cap on (which does tend to fall off) and the spout is knocked. However, I wouldn't change its' design for the world. Off to buy 3 more now.
I would highly recommend this as a starting point for getting your little one onto sippy cups.
