I bought this pitch pipe to replace an American one which was increasingly difficult to get an accurate note from. The Tombo product is a vast improvement.

As I am involved in directing a 4-voice a capella quartet, it is important to have a reliable, accurate and audible source of starting note, and this is perfect for my purposes, although others seem to prefer whacking their head with a tuning fork and humming to the rest of the group!

The pitch pipe is decently priced, easy to use, clearly marked and fairly robust, although the leather pouch isn't going to provide much protection against damage. It's also easy to get the right note "in the heat of the moment", due to the individual nozzles for each note.

The only drawback for me is that it is difficult to play the pitch pipe quietly, and that is why I have awarded 4 stars instead of 5. Recommended, nonetheless.

I love this product. It is much better than the silver metal-bodied pitch pipes for a number of reasons:
1) The separate mouth pieces for each note avoid confusion.
2) There is a tooth grip on each mouth piece that makes it very easy to hold it in your mouth while doing things with your hands, like tuning your guitar.
3) There is a mark on the E which allows you to find the other notes silently in the dark.
4) The larger back air grating results in less spittle build-up.

And also, if you suck on the back grating you can make all the notes play at once. Then if you block the notes with your fingers you can create chords. You can do all sorts of wee tricks with this thing.

It's old fashioned to use a pitch pipe, but as a vocalist I find them extremely handy: much more transportable than an electric piano and a much more friendly sound than an electronic tuner. Also, if you sing a note through the pipe you can hear the 'beats' when you are off-key, which is really handy for people with pitching difficulties. I use several different kinds of pitch pipe, but the fully chromatic ones are best when you're in a hurry and the tombo one is the cat's pajamas.

Brilliant for singers! This pitch pipe is accurate, neat and tidy and not too expensive. The only improvement I could possibly suggest is that it might be fitted with a loop of some sort to allow it to be hung round the neck on a lanyard. I have attached a lanyard to the zip puller on the case but this is not ideal as the case must be zipped up to stop the PP falling out and this reduces its immediate availability but perfection is hard to come by in the real world!

A good little pipe, somewhat delicate but a good size(fits in the palm of my hand) and not too loud.
Easy to use, with a decent range. Handy case that comes with it.

This pitch pipe is hard to find in the US. I ordered it from over seas because of its great reputation. Individual spouts for blowing each pitch allows for accurate and quick pitch finding. The sound is clear and loud when it needs to be and is always accurate. I would recommend this pipe over any other, including electronic ones!

Just whatI was looking for - does exactly what it should. It would have been nice if the bag had a loop to go round your neck as I keep putting it down and losing it!

Not the cheapest, but an excellent chromatic pitch pipe. It has thirteen individual, clearly marked blow-holes, and it gives a clear, pleasant sound. Oh, and it's in tune! Comes with a soft plastic zip case.

I conduct a singing group without any accompaniement. But what I didn't realise when ordering this pitch pipe was that it did not provide the middle "C" note. The "C" on the pipe was an octave above, which made it difficult for me to be accurate in placing the correct pitch for any songs starting on middle "C". But this neat pipe, in its own little pouch, was delightful otherwise.
