Good price , poor design 3 Sep 2008

I have previously commented on the Tom Tom One XL. In my opinion , when it was launched , it was an excellent sat nav. Unfortunately I felt let down by the flimsy quality of the mount. My opinion remains unchanged a year on !

Stay Away from this product.

1] The cable is short.
2] After 3 months, the internal wires must have loosened because now it won't charge my TomTom (it works with other chargers).

The windscreen holder is fine.

The picture shown here is for the 'official' mount sold by TomTom which is much higher in quality than the one you actually get. The cheap version that gets sent out is reluctant to stick to the windscreen and when it finally does, it does not have the support to hold up the GPS facing forward over bumps (ball bearing is too loose). Load of rubbish. Make sure to buy the 'real' one and not a poorly made impostor!

Screen holder

I brought this for the screen holder for my TomTom, it's not the best, has a tendancy to drop and sometimes can come off the screen. Worth a try.

Never worked

Within a few months the holder had split near to the mount screws. It now does not support the weight of my TomTom and I have to rest it on the dash board. Read more

Absolutely brilliant. Screen is a good size and easy to use. Bought extra accessories to be left in other cars - at great prices - so we just have to grab the Tom Tom and go go!
