I bought this book just for the lyrics and music of "Outward Bound" and "Marvellous Toy". I was overwhelmed on discovering what was inside.

It's not just a songbook, although just that would be enough as it contains some 85 song lyrics and music. All the prominent ones are there including the beautiful ballads "My Lady's a Wild Flying Dove", "Ev'ry Time(When we are Gone)", "Annie's Going to Sing her Song", "Leaving London" and of course "The Last Thing on my Mind". Think of a Tom Paxton song and it's probably in the book!

As well as the songs, you also get Tom's life story, in his own words, given as an absorbing backdrop that tells you why he wrote every one of them.

If you are looking for an insight into Tom Paxton and his music then buy this book.
