One of the biggest problems with the original Ghost Recon was that it only contained 15 solo missions. The original missions were fantastic, but there simlpy weren't enough of them. This, after Desert Siege is the second Mission Pack for Ghost Recon. Again, like desert siege, it has eight new solo missions as well as 5 new Multiplayer arenas and about a dozen new weapons, as well as a new 'Defend' playing mode. The best thing about this expansion is that it updates your Ghost Recon to the latest version allowing you use the online-multiplayer feature which nowadays demands V.188.8.131.52 (Any lower versions makes it almost impossible to find people with compatible versions to play against). The update also makes your game compatible with a multitude of home-made missions, campaigns, and weapon packs that are freely available on fan web-sites. The Island Thunder Missions themselves are ok but there's not enough variation between the maps, most of which are set in forests which to me pretty much all look the same. And the missions are far too easy, even when played on the hardest difficulty this wont take die-hard 'Recon fans more than a day or two to complete. It is however still a solid and useful add-on to what is without doubt one of the best first-person combat simulators of the past few years.
