Tom Chivers

Tom Chivers is a poet and editor born in 1983 in South London. In Spring 2008 he was the first ever Poet in Residence at The Bishopsgate Institute. His books include How To Build A City (Salt Publishing, 2009) and, as editor, Stress Fractures: Essays on Poetry and the anthologies Generation Txt and City State: New London Poetry (Penned in the Margins, 2010, 2006 & 2009). The Terrors (Nine Arches Press, 2009) was shortlisted for the Michael Marks Award for Poetry Pamphlets. He is Director of indy press Penned in the Margins and co-Director of London Word Festival. In 2009 he presented a documentary for BBC Radio 4 on the poet Barry MacSweeney. Tom lives in East London.
