Different conceptions of Middle-earth settings 28 Aug. 2015
By Julia Brown - Published on

These are really beautiful and great quality postcards. It's so interesting seeing the way these artists designed Middle-earth as we know it and how it influenced the popular movies. I would definitely recommend this and I would love to receive these in the mail! They are mostly scenery and settings in Middle-earth (and one in Valinor!). In some you can see members of the Fellowship small on the bottom, others are just a landscape. There are several different designs of famous settings such as Minas Tirith and Hobbiton by different artists which is really interesting.
The only criticism is that some of Alan Lee's art is kind of grey and washed out. Maybe it's just how these postcards are after 20 years, or how he paints.
