This is (so far) the most recent volume in this series of annual reviews. The 2009 volume is scheduled to be published in August 2010. All volumes are beautifully presented and have insightful and mostly well-researched articles about esoteric aspects of Tolkien's works. The emphasis is primarily on the 'Lord of the Rings', but other works are discussed as well. There's extensive bibliographical and biographical information, and a large section of reviews on Tolkien-related works. I've found some beauties for my Tolkien collection by reading the reviews! Most of the older volumes are no longer available through Amazon (unfortunately) but ARE still available at list price from the publisher's website. Any & all of these volumes are highly recommended for the serious student of Tolkien.
