You can tell a lot about a culture and a country by looking at the toilets - at least that seems to be the message of this book. Offering a world tour toilet by toilet, you'll find a blend of fun, funky, functional and downright freaky ways to do what everyone has to do.
Each photograph comes with an explanation of why the authors chose it and an indication of the significance of the toilet featured. It's the perfect book to leave next to your toilet - but not if you've only got one and you don't want to encourage people to linger.
My only objection is the absence of the infamous German 'poo shelf' toilet (not only Germany - the Austrians, Swiss and even the Dutch sometimes have them).
