Breathtaking, 3 Aug 2004
This review is from: Together (Hardcover)
Bring a massive fan of All Saints, i always found Nic and Nat interesting, mainly because they were alays the two members that never really did much with the group; after reading this fantastic autobiography, i now know why. It tells the story of there childhood, there rise to fame and the truth behind All Saints and the famous split. After reading it, i have so little respect for Shaznay and Melanie - it shows how fame can go to some peoples head. Just absolutely fantastic - i also found there album to be the best album i have bought in the past few years and if you havent seen there Documentry, watch that aswell (Appleton on Appleton). Alot of the aspects of the book are also in this doco!

Addictive, but don't take it as gospel!, 28 Jan 2004
I must confess I have never been a big fan of All Saints, but this book was unputdownable. Not, I hasten to add, because of the way it was written, but because it mentions lots of famous names and it's interesting to see "behind the scenes" of the very successful girl group. "Together" is entertaining reading, but objective it certainly isn't. I definitely wouldn't take it as a reliable source of information about Shaznay Lewis and Melanie Blatt, and would be interested to read books they write which give their side of the story! You get the feeling that they're not quite as sweet, delicate and put-down-upon as they make out, and they tend to skimp over any incidents which portray them in a bad light. But if you want a fluffy, non-taxing and strangely compelling read, "Together" is ideal.

Definitely the best celeb book I've read..., 25 April 2007
This review is from: Together (Hardcover)
As an avid fan of Nat & Nic's, and having followed them since All Saints, it's only till now that I've brought my own copy of their book having borrowed it out the local library more than twice. In fact, they've remained my favourite members since I've read this book and brought their debut duo album, Everything's Eventual.
Nevertheless, writing a review for this book five years down the line is hard in terms of it's context because obviously, All Saints have since reunited and made another album (Studio 1) and become friends again. However, what I think drew me more to them after reading the book was the fact that they never picked up on stories about them during the first incarnation of All Saints when they were portrayed as the "tabloid party airheads" who in the words of Nicole were "the pretty ones that stood at the back".
They waited to have their say and I think that's what made it more believable for me. Obviously, this is just my opinion, but if you're looking for a book that will have you gripping the edges of the pages then this is most definitely it. A highly enjoyable read from a seriously underrated pop duo.
