4.0 out of 5 stars Jane - Together 4 Sep 2013
Format:Audio CD|Verified Purchase
It is the first CD of this great German band. It is a more rustic rock, consistent and progressive little discs instead of later. There is a strong presence of guitar, bass and drums. Not the best album of the band, but should not be disregarded. The tracks are well played and is characteristic of the German rock era. Very good! Note 8.0.

5.0 out of 5 stars This CD is definately a "Keeper" 18 Feb 2009
By Patriotic Observer - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Audio CD|Verified Purchase
I first bought this album in the very early 70's and when it was played for friends, they liked the difference they heard from other bands at the time. This band only got better and better and their songs and lyrics were original in style. One day, back in 1973 or 74, I don't remember exactally, I was reading the back of the album cover and noticed what looked like might be a phone number. Out of curosity I dialed it and believe it or not, wound up talking to the bass player Charlie Maucher. First his Grandmother answered the phone and then he got on it. He was just as surprised that I called from Chicago as I was that I actually had a member of the band on the phone! We spoke several other times before life moved on and we lost contact. If you have the original album cover, that phone number I dialed is right there on it! Regardless, IMO this band was special and unique. You can call it space rock if you like, but I call it unique talent. Great album and great songs. R Smith

5.0 out of 5 stars The Greatest showcase of space rock. 17 Aug 2001
By Peyman Moazami - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Audio CD
Jane is a german band which was set up in the early 70's after the departure of keyboardist Manfred Wiezorke from the famous band, Eloy. This is undoubtedly one of the greatest space rock albums of all time. Here you can listen to the greatest song Daytime with souring guitar and perfect accompaniment of Keyboards. Every track of the album is truly great and the feeling of melancholy is obvious. The best album in spacs rock. believe me.

2.0 out of 5 stars Early German space rock with a bit of a hard edge 2 Jan 2006
By Jeffrey J.Park - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Audio CD
This 1972 release was issued on the Brain label and is stylistically very similar to the music Eloy made circa 1973-1974, with the exception that Jane is a bit heavier. The musicians include Bernd Pulst (vocals); Klaus Hess (lead guitar); Werner Nodolny (Hammond organ); Charly Maucher (bass); and Peter Panka (drums). There are six tracks on the album and they range in length from 3'43" to 11'53". The overall sound of the album is characteristic of space rock and the pieces predictably alternate plodding and gloomy sections that feature Rick Wright-ish Hammond work (lots of minor keys with slight modulations) with heavier sections dominated by distorted guitars. The performances are just OK and the vocals are a bit on the rough side. Although I feel that Nektar (Journey to the Centre of the Eye, 1971) and Eloy (Inside [1973] and Floating [1974]) did a better job with this particular style, Together is not completely awful and might appeal to other hardcore prog freaks such as myself.
2.0 out of 5 stars Early Boring German Rock 2 Oct 2014
By SRT - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Audio CD
Jeffrey J Park gives a review of this CD (2 stars) that is pretty much right on spot. I don't really have anything to add other than the CD makes for a pretty boring listen, at least to my ears anyway, because of the characteristics already described by Mr. Park.

3.0 out of 5 stars Jane - 'Together' (Metronome) 25 July 2007
By Mike Reed - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Audio CD
Originally released in 1972. Looks to be possibly the German progressive band's first album - ? 'Together' is a good effort, simply just not my cup of tea. A friend suggested that I check out a Jane title. Most notable tracks are "Daytime", "Try To Find" and the twelve-minute "Spain". Line-up: Bernd Pulst-vocals, Klaus Hess-guitar, Werner Nadolny-organ & flute, Peter Panka-drums and ace producer the late, great Connie Plank as engineer.
