I thought this was a nice ring-ring bell to replace my ping-ping black bell that I always though sounded a bit severe when approaching peds on the cycle path so I was disappointed that it was a ping-ping too, albeit a two-tone one. I fitted it easily but was mortified that every time I went over even a small bump it rang itself, OK not that loud, but loud enough that the poor soul cycling in front of me thought I was harassing them to get past and then not actually passing them at all. A ped thought I was ringing to give them early warning I was coming but then couldn't understand why I kept ringing. This morning I had reason to ring at a couple walking two-abreast and blocking the cycle path so I pulled on the lever with minimal force and the bell broke, the spring inside the bell assembly has come off the trigger clip. I could probably fix it but frankly I don't want the bell anyway.

The poor construction of the bell means that the slightest vibration causes it to ring. Since it is unlikely that anyone using it would be cycling over a perfectly smooth terrain, that means it would be sounding almost constantly.

At last my grandson can press the bell himself, but this could have been that he was too young when I purchased it for him. It is very well made and sounds good too. I would not recommend this for children under 18 months but my grandson got his bike when he was one so hence the bell. He loves it now and we may not be able to see him in the garden but we can hear him. Worth every penny.

This is not the bell I was expecting. The mechanism isn't right for a start. A classic bike bell as everyone over a certain age will know, has melodious dring dring. This one has a slightly dull sort of dink dunk. It is also very poor quality. You can see quite plainly from the quality of the plating, that this bell will go rusty in about 10 seconds flat, the minute it gets even slightly damp.
And if that was not enough, unlike the bell in the picture, this one has a plastic bell push - Something I was particularly keen not to have. At 5 and half quid this should have been a much better product, rather than the cheap Chinese knock-off it quite clearly is.

My 4 yr old son loves ringing his bike bell as he cycles along the pavement. Really good value, probably one of his favourite birthday presents.

This broke the first time I tried using it. Don't buy one! The mechanism kept detaching inside and I tried refastening it but it didn't work.
