Bought for my nephew, it gave him a whole day of entertainment. Being 8 he was a little more curious and tried to cut upwards and unsurprisingly broke it. Interesting for us all to see how it worked though I guess.

hi all, the toy is as simple as nice. Make sure that your child is reading the instructions BEFORE using it as it can harm his finger if not used careful. It is NOT a real blade and wont cut it off :) just the item must be "prepared" before you can put your finder in the top hole and something else to be cut in the bottom hole. You can also easily show the upper hole cutting stuff and right after put your finger and it will not be cut, just a little manipulation extremly fool proof.
Do not use brittle vegetables if you want to keep this as clean as possible, since it is not a real blade it wont cut and some pressure must be used to break apart vegetalbes or other similar items. Didnt try all combinations but carrot and potato Julien cut should perform well.

5 yr old son mad on magic but set bought at Christmas is too complicated for me! This is a goo basic trick he can cut his teeth with - hopefully nothing else
