Glows red immediately 26 Oct 2011
The new elements are not made by Dualit but say they are compatible and after installing them it would appear they are, however, they do glow red immediately and as I only replaced two out of three elements I can see the difference between the original and the compatible ones. It means that at present 1,1/2 slices cook quicker and so I will need to replace the remaining original element. Seems the best way is to replace them all when one goes. Dualit web site says: "Our unique `ProHeat' elements, used on all Vario, Combi and NewGen toasters, only glow red after prolonged and continuous use. If they start to glow red straight after being switched on, there could well be a fault with the elements" After use there does not appear to be any fault with the elements even though they glow red straight away.
