A brilliant first reader book. Simple Fun story, with a loveable and beautifully illustrated "Toad" character. My 3 year old wants this story every night, and loves opening the clever flap elements.

about a very busy toad!

16 high quality shiny pages, in the popular 2-page spread format with endearing illustrations throughout and 2 sturdy fold-out flap opportunities. Numbered pages.

Simple text with plenty of repetition of words, e.g.:-

'Toad hops happily.
She has a new house on the hill.
"My new house is best," she boasts.
Toad waits and waits for the truck to bring her things.
Time ticks on....
She's out of luck.
Where is that truck....'

where indeed......I wonder if you can guess?
And..... after a busy day....Toad is very tired when she flops into bed...but the problems have only just begun with the new house on the hill! But this is a very clever toad.........!

From Usborne Publishing, this super book is part of a series of 12.
This delightful educational series is further enhanced by the little yellow duck 'hiding' on each page - young children love to find him on every turn! In this particular book that little yellow duck appears to have a friend who is also evident on most of the pages!

This series of books have a 'familiar feel`, with the presence of characters from the other titles in the series, further aiding recognition skills and confidence building.
Within the illustrations are lots of opportunities to discuss what else is going on, in the pictures.

The inside cover page describes 'About Phonics' in relation to this specific title and the inside back cover has the list of words used in the text, broken down into their phonemes.
