5.0 out of 5 stars My new favourite book. 18 May 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I really enjoyed reading this novel, this is now one of my favourites, my favourite author is Jane Austin but now I believe Teresa McCarthy is also one of them, I look forward to reading more of her books & will be looking to see if any of the characters from this book have stories of their own I really hope so. I believe everyone should have a William in their family what a brilliant character he made me laugh out loud on many occasions, really brilliant. The relationships between the characters was very believable the family came to life like watching a film inside my head. This book has everything to recommend itself to any historical reader angst, love, laughter, family & as William would say Villains & Pirates. Love love loved it, a must for every romance reader. : )

Dire, an irritating heroine who had no sense at all and never seemed to think, a villain straight from a melodrama and a plot that made very little sense. If only one character had behaved in a believable manner it would have helped. Even the "loveable" little boy was a pain.

1.0 out of 5 stars Rightly 1 star - I hate it 25 Oct 2013

Very very rarely do I not finish a book, but this was an exception. As far as I went I found it silly and repetitive. The protagonists seemed entirely unable to communicate except when thrown together by the tricks of an irritating little boy.
