2.0 out of 5 stars Where Was The Relationship ? 26 April 2011
By Deprived Romantic - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Mass Market Paperback
This book was certainly a disappointment. The only thing the main two characters shared was SEX!! Where was the relationship? Why was Yasmine attracted to him? A strong physical attraction she had since age 16 years old, does not a love relationship make.

I have read all of Ms. Terry's books and can attest that she knows how to write Romance. However she did not create a love/romance relationship,in this story. For goodness sake she was an overage virgin and she couldn't even have a few romantic dates with her lover. It would have been nice if Holt wined and dined her;if only in appreciation for all the hot sex he was getting every night.

Hope the next book in this series is a better read.

Also, it's inexcusable that the covers of the books can't depict the characters as described by the writer. The cover for the 1st book, shows Nate looking like he is of the American Indian race of his brother Shilah, and yet Shilah's story book cover shows a white guy and none of the three shows an African American which is the race of Nate. How did that happen?

5.0 out of 5 stars It's Getting Hot In Here!!! 31 Aug 2011
By Valinda J. Miller - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Kindle Edition
This week I was catching up with some books I got at the National Book Club Conference in the ATL last month. As I was stated in my blog, African American Books on the Kindle Blog, the second day was the Romance Panel. We met and listen to Donna Hill, Kimberly Kaye Terry, J.D. Mason, Beverly Jenkins and Brenda Jackson. All of them are my favorite, except for one, KIMBERLY KAYE TERRY. I got the third one in the series, "TO LOVE A WILDE" Yasmine has always been in love with Holt, one of three brothers (all three were adopted and they are White, Native American and African American), Holt is white. Yasmine left the ranch where she lived with her Aunt after her parents died and did not return until after she became a Top Chef. She only returned because her aunt was ill. Of course, Holt saw the girl at the airport and his ding-a-ling flew to attention. They go back and forth in the romance department. Should she taste the man she has loved since grade school and had a crush on and Holt is wondering if he can convience her that his womanizing ways are over. Of course it's over when he sees her. Of course she is going to give in to the feelings throughout her body all the way down to her tingled toes. What else is new?

I'll tell you what's new. Unlike Brenda Jackson where her sexual scences are soft and supple and quiet. Mrs. Terry's will have you saying, "Well I'll be damn!!. She is straight up sexually stimulating. Some of those scenes should not be read in bed or near a man you have wanted in a long time. Watch out!!! Zane and her can hurt some body!!

I will let you sip on that and will talk about her other two in this series in the next blog. I'm sweating now!!!

3.0 out of 5 stars Ok read but needs consistency for the series 3 April 2011
By M. H. Goodwin - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Kindle Edition
I have read several books by this author and most have been pretty good in the past. I could not wait for this series since she is now writing for Kimani but I was a bit disappointed this time around. I liked the first book so I assumed the second book would be just as good. I am a sucker for details and I believe that if you introduce characters in a previous book by one name, it should follow through to any subsequent books. In particular, I am speaking of the Ranch's Doctor's daughter who was named Jasmine in the first book and has a totally different name in the third book because she is the heroine. And the girl named Jasmine is now Lily's niece who is the heroine in this book. Also, in the first book, the brothers' adoptive father was named Clint and in the second book, his name changed to Jed. Not big deals but consistency does help in a series. Overall the book was OK.
