This is the 2nd in the Bodyguard series featuring the Garrett family. Eve is Nolan's twin sister and is just as involved in E.D.E.N as her brothers. She's ex secret service and is very good at her job. When she gets a phone call from Tiffany, one of her past cases, she knows she has to go to her but when the only person waiting for Eve is a thug who beats her in an alley and leaves her, she starts to suspect that maybe Tiffany wasn't the one who called her.
The story is focussed on the search for Tiffany and it's not long before McLean appears who is both an old flame of Eves and a private investigator in his own right. He has been hired by Tiff's father's security and they don't want Eve anywhere near the troubled teenager.
It doesn't take long before the reader knows that there is more going on between Mac and Eve than just finding Tiffany and the temaperature increases as they agree to join forces to find her.
I loved this story also and though I thought I may be disappointed having read the first in the series, and had a hunch what was going to happen between the two heros before I'd even opened the book, the storyline is exciting and the plot is great.

The best I've read from this author - terrific & hot!

This is the first full-length book by Cindy Gerard that I have read, and I really enjoyed it. I love her strong, independent female charater, Eve, and the strong yet vulnerable McCain. The chemistry between the two was excellent, and was enhanced by their history of a brief affair when they were 18. The story was intriguing as these two private investigators (with heroic pasts) try to find a missing heiress and solve a mystery. There are lots of great twists and turns and many interesting characters. The secondary story about Tiffany is well done. I like that this book is part of a series about a family; you can definitely see some groundwork for future stories about Eve's brothers.
I will definitely go out and buy the first in this "Bodyguards" series, and also the new one coming out in December. If you enjoy S. Brockmann and N. Roberts mystery/romance, you'll like this!

No Limit on action and suspense

When she sees someone duck between some buildings, she is out of her car and into the dark rainy night. Instead of finding Tiffany, Eve is jumped by an unknown assailant who, before knocking her out, whispers "You're dead. You just don't know it yet."

Mac is a tough, yet all too human man. I also love their give and take. The duo simultaneously battle each other as well as the sinister threat working against them. I was not familiar with Cindy Gerard or The Bodyguards before reading To the Limit. Now I must read the first and can't wait for the next!
