TO KILL A STRANGER (just for the sake of information, French VHS title was LE TUEUR and featured a close-up of Pleasance's face on the cover) sure ain't no masterpiece. This Mexican thriller is great secondhand fun, though. The first half-hour is highly enjoyable, thanks to Donald Pleasence acting sillier than ever (know what I'm saying?). His performance alone makes it worth watching the film, which is a solid thriller if not particularly mind-blowing. The look of the film is outrageously rooted in the 1980s, so you know what you have to put up with. Dean Stockwell's in it too, as well as Aldo Ray, which adds to the overall oddness of this average B movie. As Pleasence used to say: "I only make odd films".
