Commonly compared to Lemon Jelly's work, this album has a witty mix of many different styles, some catchy hooks, and eclectic samples. Such quirky samples include: old-fashioned-radio-announcers speaking very properly about 1974 sound-documentary square-dances, or wanting to have an attractive figure, or Frank Loesser's #1 from 1943 "Praise the Lord and Pass the Ammunition" in the similarly titled track.
"Pass the Ammunition" and "Girl from Camarillo" are the most radio friendly product shifters of the album, but are not dance floor fillers; however, all the tracks have their own merits and sound rhythms.
Jacknife Lee obviously enjoyed himself making this humorous, warm and friendly album; it has a lazy laid-back sound that is nothing but enjoyable and funky with it.
