Mr Gillespie doesn't get any better than this. It's a live recording, without the studio manipulations, re-takes and all the other tricks a studio recording has to offer. However, that's exactly what makes this recording excellent. I could visualize the raport between the players, the energy of the band and the fun they were having.
The old master still had it. A must have CD for the Dizzy fans.

I would recommend this CD to any Be Bop Jazz lover. It truly captures that period in Jazz. Dizzy is complimented with a a very talented group

Great session recorded at the Blue Note in 1992. The rhythm section is Danilo Perez, George Mraz, Lewis Nash, Kenny Washington. There are quite a few guest players, but don't worry, they don't all play at once. It's just like seeing Dizzy live, really a lot of fun. This is an excellent Telarc recording - glad I have it in my collection.
