One of the best comedies I've ever watched, a classic enjoyed by my whole family which includes a 12 and 16 year olds (they normally don't like old movies).
I've lost count of how many times we've watched it and it just keeps getting better. I'm buying another copy as my neighbour liked it too much and moved away with it :)
And for the record, the film is not about the Jews and not about the concentration camps. It takes on the stereotypes, polish, jewish, german, gay, husbands and wifes, their lovers and laughs at them. I laugh at myself as I watch it, I'm polish.
I agree that its terrible that allies did not help to liberate the camps until it was too late. And I should know. My extended family and their friends experienced the atrocities first hand. However this film is not about it.
