An out and out laugh riot, To be Or Not To Be is the tale of poor Jewish actors, and their ..ahem.. affairs. In the midst of the Nazi take-over of Poland, these actors struggle to outsmart the Nazis, in the midst of total hilarious chaos!
Typical outrageous Mel Brooks fare, this film promises a stitch or two in your sides, while making digs at everyone form Shakespeare to Hitler!
Truly funny stuff, To Be Or Not To Be makes excellent viewing...worth several watches.

Excellent! 25 Sep 2011
Format:DVD
I had to wait a little time for the DVD to arrive - but the wait was worth it!
Excellent DVD - easy to switch off the Korean subtitles and the quality of the print is first class - as is the quality of the movie!
Carol Lombard, in what turned out to be her final film, is at her finest - what a tragedy she never saw her finished work - the movie was released after she was tragically killed in a plane crash.
She was a great comedienne and her comic timing here is on a par with that of the great Jack Benny - why he made only a handful of movies, I for one will never know!
On the whole, this is one of the finest comedies ever to come out of Hollywood and is also a tribute to the great Ernst Lubitsch!
It is also one of my favourite movies of all time!
John Rawnsley - husband of Nuala Willis!

BMFARRELL 17 Jan 2012
Format:DVD
One of the best comedies I've ever watched, a classic enjoyed by my whole family which includes a 12 and 16 year olds (they normally don't like old movies).
I've lost count of how many times we've watched it and it just keeps getting better. I'm buying another copy as my neighbour liked it too much and moved away with it :)
And for the record, the film is not about the Jews and not about the concentration camps. It takes on the stereotypes, polish, jewish, german, gay, husbands and wifes, their lovers and laughs at them. I laugh at myself as I watch it, I'm polish.
I agree that its terrible that allies did not help to liberate the camps until it was too late. And I should know. My extended family and their friends experienced the atrocities first hand. However this film is not about it.
